Diagnosis
Ankylosing spondylitis can not be diagonosed just through a single test. There are several examination to diagnosis the spondytis. Before diagnosis in medical loaboratoy you can test yourself. First look at your family history. Is there anybody in your family having the disease? Watch carefully if the back pain or uneasyness lasted for more than 90 days. Are you feeling fatigued? If your reply is “yes” then you have to go for further tests to diagnosis.
Physical examinations:
Inflation in eyes
Breathlessness
Stooped posture
Signs of inflammation and decreased range of motion of joings
Decreased flexibility of the low back and or neck.
Clinical Examination
X Ray , Ultrasonography and MRI scanning
Blood tests: HLA-B27, ESR and CRP tests.
Treatment of Spondylitis
Medicines:
Anti inflammatory drugs are most commonly used.
Immunosuppreasants are also used. If the above two are ineffective TNF blocking medications may be used. Some times Steroidal anti inflammatory drugs like cortisone is required to be injected to give relief from pain.
Exercise:
Regular exercise plays an important role to back to your health. Following are the useful exercise to relief from spondylitis.
Deep breathing
Lying down with face down
Maintain erect posture everytime
Swimming
Strecching
Surgery:
Some time surgery can relief from Ankylosing spondylitis.
